Project Description

During the summer of 2013 MAI collaborated on a research project, supported by NSERC financing, with colleagues from the Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences (KGI) and the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada Centre for Health and Biotech Management Research. The team wanted to learn how and whether or not Prince Edward Island, the smallest province in Canada, has been able to sustain its bioscience industry between 2005 and 2013. Building on a previous study analyzing the period 2005 – 2009, our team developed a survey which we used to interview the majority of bioscience organizations – firms, government agencies and public research organizations – on the island. MAI presented its findings to the industry.
